Morgan Riddle is closing the book on her time as a tennis WAG. The social media influencer, who was famously linked to American tennis star Taylor Fritz for six years, has made it crystal clear: no more athletes.
In a candid interview with Elle, Riddle opened up about life after her split from Fritz, which happened roughly two months ago. The couple reportedly met on the dating app Raya during the pandemic, but now Riddle has packed her bags for New York City and is ready for a fresh start.
“I’ll never date an athlete again,” she declared. That’s not just a throwaway line—it’s a hard rule written into what she calls a 33-point non-negotiables list for her next relationship.
“It has basic things like political alignment, shared life goals, intellectual intimacy, no sports betting or gambling, only makes my life happier,” Riddle explained. The list leaves no room for professional athletes, a clear pivot from her years courtside at Fritz’s matches.
Riddle’s presence at tennis tournaments helped launch her online career, and she’s grateful for that. But she’s also realistic about the risks of dating in the spotlight. “Say, hypothetically, I fully supported him and his career and didn’t make my own money and didn’t develop my own brand, what would I be doing now?” she asked. “Would I be back in Minnesota? If you don’t have that autonomy and you don’t make your own money and you want to leave… I just hope any WAG or woman can make that choice.”
Her advice echoes a sentiment shared by other former partners of high-profile athletes. Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce's ex, has also spoken about navigating life after a high-profile relationship. Riddle's story adds another layer to the conversation about identity and independence beyond being a partner to a star.
Since the breakup, Riddle has been embracing her independence. She recently turned heads in a striking red outfit in New York, signaling a bold new chapter. Meanwhile, Fritz has remained silent publicly about the split, likely focusing on his next match at the Stuttgart Open against Martin Landaluce.
For Riddle, the message is simple: she’s building her own brand, on her own terms. And that means no more athletes on the roster.
