Johnny Manziel just can't let go. The former Heisman winner and Cleveland Browns bust went on a profanity-laced tirade against a local radio host this week, proving once again that the same immaturity that torpedoed his NFL career is still alive and well.

It all started when Manziel declared on a podcast that he will hate the city of Cleveland forever. Tony Rizzo of ESPN Cleveland responded by asking, "What did anyone do to you, except root for you to win?" That question apparently touched a nerve.

Joe Thomas Slams Premature Shedeur Sanders Trade Talk: 'He Needs Time'
Joe Thomas pushes back on the idea of trading Shedeur Sanders, emphasizing his need for development and time to prove himself as a starter.

Manziel fired back with an expletive-filled rant, calling Rizzo a "stupid" expletive and claiming the Cleveland media has nothing better to talk about because their quarterback "stopped [expletive] massage therapists." He also pointed to the Browns' terrible roster and coaching staff, saying, "Tom Brady couldn't have won with our roster from 2015."

Here's the thing: Manziel isn't entirely wrong. The Browns were a mess. But that doesn't excuse his own role in the failure. He was the one who chose nightclubs over film study, who partied instead of prepared, who couldn't stay out of trouble. The same pattern that made him a cautionary tale is on full display in this outburst.

This is not how a leader responds. This is not how a mature professional handles criticism. Instead of taking the high road or even ignoring the comment, Manziel went nuclear, attacking a radio host and deflecting blame onto everyone else. It's the same behavior that got him run out of the league after just two seasons.

Manziel has admitted in the past that his own priorities were off during his time in Cleveland. But this latest rant suggests he still hasn't fully owned his mistakes. He says he's taken responsibility, but his actions say otherwise.

The sad part is that Manziel had all the talent in the world. He could have been a star. But talent alone isn't enough in the NFL. You need the mental toughness, the discipline, the maturity to handle adversity and criticism. Manziel never had that, and based on this rant, he still doesn't.

Cleveland fans and media may have their flaws, but they didn't force Manziel to party, to skip meetings, to alienate teammates. They didn't make him fail. He did that all on his own. And until he truly understands that, he'll always be just another "what if" story.
