Bauza's family confirmed his passing in a heartfelt statement, saying, "Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly. More details to come."

His career spanned decades, with his vocal talents bringing joy to millions. From the wisecracking Bugs to the lisping Daffy, Bauza's versatility made him a standout in the animation industry. He also voiced characters in numerous other projects, cementing his legacy as one of the most prolific voice actors of his generation.

The outpouring of grief has been immense. One fan wrote, "I'm in complete shock and disbelief. A tremendously talented and kind coworker who I always had great conversations with and learned from. Sending so much love to his family. He was a giant. A titan in our industry."

Another colleague shared, "Gracias, amigo. My life was immeasurably changed for the better by having met Eric Bauza. He just made everything he worked on better. A generational talent. A legend. I would write and design characters giddy thinking how he would bring them to life. And behind the scenes, an incredibly kind, humble and open-hearted good dude. How luck we all were to have been able to witness his talent shine. And boy did it shine!!! My heart goes out to his family and friends. Adios, amigo. You will never be forgotten."

A close friend recalled, "I'm absolutely devastated. Eric was my first friend when I moved to LA in 2010. We shared a desk at a small animation studio, drawing and laughing constantly. I'll never forget the day he left to pursue voice acting full-time, and watching him go on to become an absolute legend. The last thing I texted him was that he was 'the voice of our generation.' I meant every word, and I'm so grateful I got to tell him. More than anything, I'll remember his kindness, his humor, and the wonderful friend he was. Love you, buddy. You are, and always will be, 1 of 1. Sending all my love to your family. ❤️"

His passing echoes the recent loss of ESPN Radio producer Stosh Cienki, whose cause of death was also revealed, reminding us of the fragility of life. In the sports world, we've seen similar heartbreak with the death of Raiders legend Pete Banaszak, and the passing of NFL spotter David Moulton. These losses serve as a poignant reminder to cherish every moment.

Bauza's impact on animation and pop culture is immeasurable. He will be remembered not only for his incredible talent but for the kindness and humility he showed to everyone he met. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.
