Sophie Cunningham is having a week to remember. The Indiana Fever guard just turned 30, and she's got plenty of reasons to smile — both on and off the court.

Her Fever squad is on fire, posting an 8-2 record over their last ten games and looking every bit like a championship contender. But the birthday girl's celebration got an extra boost from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, which took a moment to honor her special day.

Empowerment Behind the Lens

SI Swimsuit shared a throwback to Cunningham's rookie photo shoot, which took place at the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island. For Cunningham, that experience was about much more than just striking a pose.

“It really was so fun,” Cunningham told SI Swimsuit. “You just feel so empowered, and something I really do love about it is like, they choose … different body sizes, shapes and sizes, different ethnicities, like they just like empower all types of women and it really was like frickin’ awesome. It was awesome.”

She added that she was “really proud” of her work with the iconic brand.

WNBA Stars in the Spotlight

Cunningham isn't the only WNBA star to grace the pages of SI Swimsuit this year. Minnesota Lynx standout Napheesa Collier also posed for the magazine, echoing Cunningham's enthusiasm.

“This was such an amazing opportunity,” Collier said. “Grateful for everyone involved in making my dreams come true.”

Past WNBA collaborators include Sue Bird, Cameron Brink, Nneka Ogwumike, and Breanna Stewart, showing the strong bond between the league and the swimsuit franchise.

For Cunningham, the birthday wishes from SI Swimsuit add to a season that's already been full of highlights. She's also been sharing heartfelt messages with Fever fans as she embraces this milestone year.

And with the Fever rolling, Cunningham's 30s are off to a flying start — both on the hardwood and in the spotlight.
