When Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles takes the stage at the 2026 NFL Draft, all eyes will be on him. But there's one fan in the crowd who knows him better than anyone: his girlfriend, Kaia Henderson.

Henderson isn't just a supportive partner — she's an NCAA athlete in her own right. The former Buckeyes women's basketball player transferred to Boston College for the 2025-26 season, where she averaged 2.0 points and 1.6 assists per game. And with another year of eligibility left, she's not ruling out one more ride on the hardwood.

Tom Brady's Blunt Message to Raiders' No. 1 Pick: 'I'm Not Going to Be All Lovey-Dovey'
Tom Brady's welcome to Raiders No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza was anything but soft. The seven-time Super Bowl champion made it clear he'll push the rookie hard.

“Not sure what the future holds (hopefully one more ride), but I don’t take a single moment for granted,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thankful for my teammates, coaches, and everyone who supported us all year.”

From New Hartford to Ohio State

Before she was a college athlete, Henderson was a scoring machine at New Hartford High School. She led her team in scoring as a junior and finished her prep career with a staggering 2,092 points in just three seasons. That dominance earned her a spot with the Buckeyes in 2022.

Now, as she watches Styles prepare for the biggest night of his football life, Henderson is his biggest cheerleader. After Ohio State won the College Football Playoff in 2025, she posted: “Words can’t express how proud I am of my National Champion. I am so thankful for the amazing friendships and memories made, and for being apart of this unforgettable journey with you. Standing by your side every step of the way.”

Why the NFL is buzzing about Sonny Styles

Styles is widely considered the top linebacker in the 2026 draft class. Over his Buckeyes career, he piled up 245 tackles, nine sacks, nine pass break-ups and three forced fumbles. His athleticism is off the charts — a 43½-inch vertical and a 4.46-second 40-yard dash — and ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has him ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect.

Kiper even floated a blockbuster trade scenario where the Dallas Cowboys send both of their first-round picks to the Cleveland Browns to move up to No. 6 and snag Styles. “Dallas wasn’t stopping anyone last season,” Kiper wrote. “It allowed 6.1 yards per play, second worst in the NFL. It allowed 30.1 points per game, worst in the NFL. And it was far and away the league’s least effective defense by EPA.”

With that kind of buzz, Styles could be a top-10 pick — and Henderson will be right there to celebrate.

What’s next for the power couple?

While Styles gears up for his rookie season, Henderson may continue her college basketball career. If she does, she'll balance her own game with cheering on her man from the stands. Either way, their journey is just getting started.
