Erin Andrews just celebrated her 48th birthday, but instead of cake and presents, she got a photo that made her cringe. The Fox Sports sideline reporter, who's gearing up for the 2026 NFL season, marked the occasion on May 4 with her husband, former NHL star Jarret Stoll. But Stoll's Instagram tribute didn't go over well.
Andrews didn't hold back when she saw the photo he posted. She's now issued a clear demand: no more pictures of her on his social media. Period.
“He’s great, but he always just does a regurgitation of photos that he has in his phone and doesn’t look at them,” Andrews said. “The latest one, I’m scratching my (breast). I am. I’m scratching my (breast) and my kid is there and my dog is there.”
Her colleague and close friend Charissa Thompson saw it coming. “I was scrolling and I saw it and I went, ‘Oh, she’s not going to like that,'” Thompson recalled.
Andrews isn't alone in this battle. Women across social media chimed in with their own stories of husbands picking the worst possible photos. One joked her husband used a framed wedding picture for their 10th anniversary post, while another said he shared 15+ photos for their son's 7th birthday—none from the past year. “Been there,” another added. “Lol, join the club,” echoed a third. One optimist noted, “Hey, at least he's trying!”
For a woman who's constantly in front of cameras—whether on the sidelines for Fox or hosting Dancing with the Stars—Andrews knows what a good photo looks like. And Stoll's selection clearly missed the mark. The incident has sparked a relatable conversation about birthday photos gone viral, though Andrews' complaint is far more modest than some.
This isn't the first time a celebrity birthday has made headlines for unexpected reasons. Just recently, Angel Reese celebrated her 24th with a swimsuit snap that broke the internet. And Megan Fox's 40th birthday photoshoot also turned heads. But Andrews' request is a bit more down-to-earth: just check the photo before you hit post.
Andrews, who's used to being photographed and broadcast live, clearly doesn't trust her husband's judgment when it comes to Instagram. And honestly, who can blame her? The woman knows her angles. Stoll might want to stick to action shots from his hockey days.
