The girlfriend of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is not backing down. Marissa Ayers took to TikTok to address the backlash she received after sharing a sweet moment with Dart on the practice field during training camp.
Fans had plenty to say when Ayers and Dart were spotted locking lips during a break in drills. But Ayers is setting the record straight — and she's not holding back.
Setting the Record Straight
In a recent TikTok video, Ayers explained that the presence of significant others at camp is about more than just a quick hello. "This week [at training camp] it's just a little more intimate, so, family, girlfriends, [and] wives… Because I'm seeing comments, and it's like, 'Why are the girlfriends there?' It's to bring the families together," she said.
Ayers emphasized that these gatherings give everyone a chance to bond and support the players. "The kids can go and see their dads, it's so cute," she added.
Defending Their Time
She also addressed the notion that the players might be distracted. "They basically practice for 2-3 hours, and you see the players for maybe like 10 minutes… and then they're back in meetings for the rest of the afternoon and night," Ayers explained. "It's not like they're hanging out. Trust me, they're locked in. It's a chance for us to be supportive before the season."
Despite the online negativity, Ayers remains unfazed, saying, "Just so much hate online and negative commentary around players."
Dart Stands by His Girl
Dart, who had a breakout 2025 season with 2,272 passing yards, 487 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns, has been vocal about his support for Ayers. "She's been amazing. I mean, I can't say good enough things about her," Dart told PEOPLE. "Things have come around so fast between us. It's really cool when you have two people who are independent what they do, but at the same time… are each other's biggest cheerleaders."
As the Giants gear up for the season, it's clear Ayers will be in the stands, cheering him on. The couple's relationship has been a bright spot in what has been a challenging offseason for the team, which has also dealt with concerns about Dart's health after a scary hit.
While some might question the timing, Ayers' message is simple: this is about family, support, and love. And with the season fast approaching, that's exactly what Dart needs.
