“NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero is expected to be laid off by ESPN on Tuesday, sources told Front Office Sports,” the outlet reported. “An ESPN spokesperson declined to comment.”

Throughout this process, we have taken the time to carefully evaluate our collective teams, resources and organizational structure to best position us for the future,” Pitaro wrote.
“As a result, we had to make some difficult decisions about job impacts that we will be communicating today. While most of the job impacts are tied to the acquisition, we will also notify colleagues in other parts of the company today that their positions have been impacted.”
Pitaro emphasized that ESPN is committed to treating employees with compassion and respect during the transition. More names are expected to surface in the coming days as the layoffs continue.
For now, Pelissero’s future remains uncertain, but his resume suggests he’ll land on his feet. Whether he ends up at a traditional network, a streaming service, or a digital outlet, one thing is clear: the NFL insider landscape just got a lot more interesting.
