Even while she's soaking up some well-earned time off, Olympic gymnast Suni Lee knows how to keep her fans talking. The 23-year-old gold medalist posted a series of vacation photos on Instagram this Friday that immediately set social media ablaze.
Lee, who became a global star after winning the all-around gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has been through a lot since then. Health issues threatened her path to the 2024 Summer Games, but she powered through to capture another gold medal along with two bronze medals. Her growing popularity even landed her in the 2025 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, where she opened up about her relationship with her body.
“Gymnastics has definitely impacted my body image,” Lee told SI Swimsuit. “We have to wear skin-tight leotards. There are so many critics online, but I’m always going to be my biggest critic, so whenever you read things, it just kind of makes you overthink. But I just had to learn that my body is my temple and I wouldn’t be able to do what I have to do without it.”
Although Lee wasn't featured in the 2026 issue, she didn't need a magazine spread to make headlines. Her Friday Instagram post, showing off a stylish vacation outfit, had fans flooding the comments with praise. “Oh you’re STUNNING,” one follower wrote. Another added, “Prettiest face I ever seen,” while a third simply said, “Sooooo beautiful.” It’s safe to say her look earned a perfect score from the crowd.
The reaction echoes similar buzz around other athletes who've turned heads with their off-field style. For instance, sophie cunningham's pregame outfit recently racked up 70,000 likes, proving that fashion and sports often make a winning combination.
As for what's next in her gymnastics career, Lee isn't rushing to decide. The 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles are still years away, and she's taking a measured approach. “I think last Olympics I put so much pressure on myself,” Lee said, via GymnasticsVille. “I just kind of want to see where I’m at and how my body feels.”
Fans are certainly hoping she'll grace the Olympic stage again. Her resilience and talent have made her a beloved figure in the sport, and another run would only add to her legacy. For now, though, she's enjoying a well-deserved break—and looking great while doing it.
