When Sydney Sweeney showed up to Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, fans immediately noticed she wasn't seated among the A-list celebrities courtside. Instead, the Euphoria star was spotted a few rows back alongside her boyfriend, Scooter Braun.
That seating choice sparked a wave of speculation, with some outlets suggesting she'd been booted from the coveted celebrity row. But Braun is setting the record straight.
In a post on Instagram, Braun revealed that Sweeney actually surprised him and his family with tickets to the game. “She surprised me with tickets in the same section with my pops and my brother so I could share it with them,” he wrote. “Let’s keep things positive and get One more! Greatest game of all time. Can’t stop smiling.”
So much for the rumor that she was pushed off celebrity row. In reality, Sweeney chose to sit with her boyfriend's family—a far more heartwarming explanation than the gossip mill churned out.
The New York Post had run a headline claiming Sweeney was “pushed off of Knicks Celebrity Row,” but Braun's clarification shows that narrative was completely off base. At the height of her career, Sweeney could have easily claimed a courtside seat, but she prioritized family time over celebrity status.
Game 4 was a star-studded affair, with the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, and Taylor Swift all seated courtside. But Sweeney's decision to sit with Braun's family didn't make her any less of a fan—it just made her a more thoughtful one.
If the Finals stretch to a Game 6, we might see the couple back at MSG for another thriller. Until then, Braun's message is clear: keep it positive.
