The Lexington Police Department in South Carolina has launched a search for a personal trainer who went missing last week, and they’re calling on the community for any leads.

Elena Katherine Moore, 39, was last seen on June 11 leaving a Planet Fitness in Lexington around 6:40 p.m. local time. Although she works as a trainer at Wolf’s Fitness Center, authorities say she frequently visits the Planet Fitness located at 560 Whiteford Way.

Conor McGregor No-Shows Stephen A. Smith on First Take, Leaving ESPN High and Dry
Conor McGregor reportedly no-showed his scheduled appearance on ESPN's First Take with Stephen A. Smith, leaving the network scrambling and raising questions about his reliability.

According to a press release from the Lexington Police Department, “Ms. Moore was last seen walking away from Planet Fitness toward the wooded area behind Lowe’s Home Improvement Store. She was wearing an olive-green zip-up hoodie with black athletic pants. Officers deployed and circulated a drone in that region with negative results.”

Moore is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police noted that she does not have a known vehicle and it’s unclear whether she has her cell phone with her.

The case has drawn attention from national outlets, and the search continues as days pass without a sign of her. The situation echoes other recent missing-person cases, such as the search for a missing Alabama woman that ended in heartbreak.

Lexington Police Department Inspector Missy Silcox is urging anyone with information to come forward. “We’re just hoping tips come in,” Silcox said. “Even the smallest tip could be the biggest thing for us to crack open this case.”

Authorities can be reached at 803-358-7271 or via email at [email protected]. The department is treating the disappearance seriously, deploying drones and canvassing the area near the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, where Moore was last seen heading into the woods.

This isn’t the first time law enforcement has dealt with a high-profile missing person case. Earlier this year, a missing New Mexico scientist’s cause of death was revealed as a gunshot wound, underscoring the urgency in such investigations.

As the search for Moore continues, the sports community and local residents are hoping for a safe resolution. Our thoughts are with Moore’s loved ones during this difficult time.
