Lindsey Vonn is officially done with the Golden State. The Olympic skiing icon has permanently relocated from Beverly Hills, California, to a custom-built home in Utah, marking a major lifestyle shift as she continues recovering from a devastating leg injury.

Vonn, 41, listed her Beverly Hills property back in November and recently slashed the asking price from $4.45 million to $4.25 million, according to Realtor.com. The home, which she bought for $3.4 million in 2021, is described as a "serene, stylish, and effortlessly private" residence behind secure walls and gates. The move comes after years of hinting at a desire to leave California behind.

Why Utah?

Vonn has long had Utah on her radar. In a 2020 interview, she explained that Vail, Colorado, where she spent much of her childhood, held too many painful memories tied to hospital visits. "I was living in Vail for pretty much most of my childhood, and I just felt like I needed a change after retirement," she said. "Vail just reminded me of all of my hospital visits. I think I was at the Vail hospital more times than not and I knew everyone by their first names, which is not a good sign."

Her new Utah home sits on a sprawling 24-acre plot, offering the privacy and space she craves. The move also mirrors a trend among celebrities ditching California for more affordable or spacious locales—similar to Carrie Underwood's decision to leave the state for a massive farm.

Recovery from Olympic Injury

Vonn's relocation comes as she recovers from a horrific leg fracture suffered during the women's downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. She was airlifted off the mountain and spent two and a half weeks in the hospital. "It was quite a challenge, just being in the hospital alone for two and a half weeks," she told PEOPLE. "Being completely immobile for that extended time period was so rough."

But she's seeing progress. "I'd say in the last month, it's definitely gotten better, but of course there were really low moments," she added. The skiing legend has also been spotted with a French skier amid her recovery, sparking dating rumors.

A New Chapter

Vonn's departure from California marks the end of an era for the three-time Olympic medalist, who has long been a fixture in the state's celebrity circles. With her new Utah home and a focus on healing, she appears ready to embrace a quieter, more grounded life away from the hustle of Beverly Hills.

As she puts it, the move is permanent—and she's not looking back.
