Ohio State has done it again. The Buckeyes have landed a commitment from another elite wide receiver, and this one comes with a familiar last name. Jett Harrison, the younger brother of former Ohio State star and current NFL wideout Marvin Harrison Jr., announced his commitment to the program on Wednesday.

According to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, the five-star prospect from the Class of 2028 chose the Buckeyes over Oregon and Miami. Harrison is ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit and the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2028 class by 247Sports, trailing only top overall prospect Brysen Wright.

The news sent a jolt through the Ohio State fan base, which has grown accustomed to seeing elite receivers flock to Columbus. The Buckeyes have become a factory for NFL-ready wideouts, and Harrison's commitment is the latest piece of evidence that the program's reputation as "Wide Receiver U" is alive and well.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!! Ohio State has always been and always will be WIDE RECEIVER U," one fan exclaimed on social media. Another added, "I thought when Hartline left, OSU was ‘dead’….lol. The train rolls on."

Harrison's commitment also underscores the continued success of Ohio State's receiver development pipeline, which has produced stars like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Emeka Egbuka, Terry McLaurin, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and of course, his older brother Marvin Harrison Jr. The Buckeyes have consistently churned out top-tier talent that thrives in the NFL, and Harrison is expected to follow that path.

While the Buckeyes have been busy on the recruiting trail, the broader landscape of college athletics is shifting rapidly. Ohio State athletics' record-breaking budget has allowed the program to invest heavily in facilities, coaching, and recruiting, making it an even more attractive destination for top prospects like Harrison.

Harrison's commitment also comes amid a period of transition in Columbus. The departure of wide receivers coach Brian Hartline earlier this year raised questions about whether Ohio State could maintain its dominance at the position. But the program quickly answered those doubts by securing commitments from multiple high-profile receivers, including Harrison.

"Some people thought WRU was over!?!? 🤣🤣🤣 any updated thoughts from those people?" one fan wrote. Another added, "I don’t think other fanbases will understand how much this means to us."

Harrison, who attends St. Joseph's Prep in Pennsylvania, is already making waves on the field. He caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the PIAA Class 6A football championship game in December, showcasing the talent that has made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.

For Ohio State, landing Harrison is more than just a recruiting win—it's a statement. The Buckeyes are reloading, not rebuilding, and they're doing it with one of the most talented young receivers in the nation. As one fan put it, "BOOOOOOOM!!!! Ohio State keeps the WR pipeline going. Welcome to the Brotherhood."
