Bob Myers knows a thing or two about building championship teams—he won four NBA titles as the Golden State Warriors' general manager. So when he weighs in on where LeBron James should land in free agency, the basketball world listens. And his answer might surprise you: it's not the Bay Area.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, James' top three suitors are the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers. The Warriors could theoretically enter the mix if they pull off a blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis, but even Myers—who spent over a decade crafting Golden State's dynasty—isn't betting on that scenario.
“If it’s about winning, let’s talk about this team. Because you can win here in Philadelphia,” Myers said, speaking directly to James. The 76ers have assembled a powerhouse trio of Joel Embiid, V.J. Edgecombe, and Tyrese Maxey, then added Jaylen Brown in a trade with the Boston Celtics. Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists last season, giving Philly a versatile two-way star.
Myers' endorsement carries weight, but he's not the only one high on the Sixers. Charania noted that James is “taking their pitch really seriously” after the Brown acquisition. Still, the Cavs and Heat remain strong contenders, with Cleveland offering a homecoming and Miami providing its signature culture of excellence.

“When I talk to teams now I have a hierarchy of Cleveland, Miami, Philadelphia, and then some teams on the peripheral,” Charania told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. The Timberwolves have also made a bold pitch, as covered in their appeal to James, but they remain long shots.
James has no set timetable for his decision, leaving fans and front offices in suspense. Myers, for his part, is clear: if LeBron wants another ring, the City of Brotherly Love is his best bet.
