Bill Belichick has a message for those spreading rumors about his personal life: enough is enough. The North Carolina Tar Heels head coach, who has been dating 25-year-old Jordon Hudson for a couple of years, is finally addressing the wild speculation head-on.
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Belichick made it crystal clear that Hudson has absolutely no official role within UNC's football program. He didn't mince words, calling the swirling rumors "ridiculous."
"The way the story was picked up was a long way from that," Belichick said. "Like, 'She's trying to be the general manager of the team,' and it's so ridiculous."
The rumors apparently stemmed from an email Belichick sent shortly after taking the job in December. He explained that he was juggling a ton of commitments—five TV shows, a radio gig, and a book—and needed help coordinating his personal appearances outside the university.
"I sent an email when I got here and I said, 'Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?'" Belichick recounted. "Didn't have anything to do with the university. Well, that was leaked as 'Jordon's involved in every single thing that I do and she's copied on every email.' That's just a flat-out lie."
Belichick did acknowledge that Hudson helps him with scheduling and media appearances, but he stressed that it's strictly personal stuff—not football-related. "There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It's not North Carolina stuff," he said.
UNC has also confirmed that Hudson has no role within the football program, backing up Belichick's claims. Hudson herself reportedly declined a request to be interviewed for the Wall Street Journal piece.
This isn't the first time Belichick has had to address off-field distractions. He previously stayed silent amid an NCAA probe, but this time he's speaking out. The scrutiny surrounding his relationship with Hudson has been intense, with fans and media alike questioning how it fits into the Chapel Hill scene.
