Bill Belichick made it crystal clear on Monday: his love life is none of the media's business. The UNC Tar Heels head coach, who is in the midst of his second season in Chapel Hill, was visibly irritated when a reporter pressed him about the status of his relationship with Jordon Hudson.
The 74-year-old, six-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, didn't mince words. "Do you work for a tabloid now? I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that's alright with you," he snapped, effectively ending that line of questioning.
The exchange comes on the heels of a weekend report from TMZ Sports claiming that Belichick and Hudson had split. However, conflicting reports have since surfaced, leaving the situation murky. WRAL in North Carolina, citing sources close to the program, said there's little evidence the couple isn't still together. Hudson has been a visible presence around the Tar Heels this season, even appearing on the sidelines during UNC's Sept. 12 victory over East Tennessee State University.
Belichick, never one to indulge in personal chatter, previously addressed Hudson's role (or lack thereof) in the program back in 2025. "It's a personal relationship, and she doesn't have anything to do with UNC football," he said then, reinforcing his stance that his private life stays private.
The timing of the question couldn't be worse for the Tar Heels, who are coming off a heartbreaking 38-35 loss to Miami on Saturday night. With a 4-4 record, UNC is desperate to get back on track, and Belichick's focus is squarely on the gridiron, not gossip.
Next up for the Tar Heels is UConn on Saturday at noon ET, a game that will air on CBS Sports Network. Belichick has made it clear he wants the narrative to be about football, not his personal life. As he pushes for better officiating in the ACC, he's also hoping his team can channel the intensity he showed on Monday into a much-needed win.
For now, fans and media alike will have to respect his boundary—or face the wrath of a coach who has never been shy about shutting down questions he deems unworthy.
