The WNBA trade deadline is just hours away, and the rumor mill is churning at full speed. Kelsey Plum, the Los Angeles Sparks' star guard, is at the center of it all, with three teams reportedly lining up to make a move.

Plum, who signed a one-year, $999,999 deal with the Sparks before the 2026 season, hasn't played since June 21 due to a lower left leg injury. Before going down, she was putting up MVP-caliber numbers, averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game. Her absence has been felt, as the Sparks went 2-9 without their leading scorer.

Trade speculation has been swirling all week, and league sources are increasingly convinced a deal is imminent. Marisa Ingemi of the Los Angeles Times reported that it's "most likely" the Sparks will trade Plum before Sunday's deadline, noting that multiple teams have called and the front office is planning to move her.

On Saturday, Madeline Kenney of the New York Post added fuel to the fire, revealing that the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty, and Phoenix Mercury have all expressed interest in acquiring Plum. Each of those teams could use a dynamic scorer and playmaker like Plum to boost their playoff hopes.

So, what happens if the Sparks can't find a trade partner in time? According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Plum would be on the court for the Sparks on Sunday, but with a strict minutes limit. "If she's not traded, however, Plum is expected to play under a small minutes restriction tomorrow against Portland," Shelburne said. "The Sparks went 2-9 without their leading scorer, who will become an unrestricted free agent after the season."

The clock is ticking. With less than 24 hours to go, the Sparks have a big decision to make: pull off a blockbuster trade or hold onto Plum and hope she can help them finish the season strong. Either way, it's a move that could reshape the WNBA landscape.
