The NFL Draft is a life-changing moment for the players selected, but for the women supporting them, it can be a minefield of public scrutiny. Just ask Leanna Lenee, the wife of Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, who knows firsthand what it's like to be under the microscope.

Lenee faced intense backlash during the 2024 Heisman Trophy ceremony when cameras caught her seated while Hunter accepted the award. The criticism followed her all the way to the 2025 NFL Draft, prompting Hunter to defend her on a Twitch livestream.

Former Vikings Sack Leader Doug Martin Dies at 68, Team Mourns Another Legend
Former Vikings All-Pro defensive end Doug Martin has died at 68. The team also recently lost Jeff Siemon and Joey Browner.

“I know what I got. I know my girl. My girl’s been with me for five years,” Hunter said. “Y’all hate on me and then y’all go hate on my girl. I feel the same pain that she feel. If she hurting, of course I’m going to be hurting.”

Now, as the draft kicks off in Pittsburgh, Lenee is paying it forward with some tongue-in-cheek advice for the wives and girlfriends of this year's prospects. In a video shared on social media, she rattled off a list of contradictory expectations women face.

“Don’t get in the camera because if you get in the camera too much, you want this to revolve around you. Also, don’t avoid the cameras because then you don’t care about your boyfriend or fiancé,” she said sarcastically. “Apparently, some people are going to tell you to sit up. Also, don’t sit up too fast because you’re making it about you. Don’t hug him before his mom hugs him, because that’s wrong.”

She continued: “Don’t cry, because if you do, you’re dramatic. Don’t wear heels, because your feet are going to start to hurt and your man will carry you. But if you don’t wear heels, you’re classless. Don’t smile too much, because if you do, they’re going to think you’re just there for the money.”

Lenee isn't the only WAG to weigh in. Gia Duddy, the ex-girlfriend of Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis, also shared her own hard-earned wisdom. Duddy went viral during the 2023 draft for her expressive reactions in the green room.

“I feel like I’ve never really talked about the draft, and I don’t really like talking about it, just because it just genuinely wasn’t about me,” Duddy said. “But I do wanna say is congratulations to all the hard-working men that are in this draft class. … For those who are attending, beware of your resting [expletive] face. Because the media loves media, and they will start a story that you’re just a [expletive]. So from one RBF to another, good luck.”

The draft has already seen its share of drama, from a Chiefs assistant coach arrested on the eve of the draft to Carson Beck's sister stealing the spotlight with a bold outfit. And as the night unfolds, all eyes will be on the green room — not just on the players, but on the women standing by their side.

For those attending the draft, Lenee's message is clear: no matter what you do, someone will have an opinion. So you might as well be yourself — and maybe avoid the heels.
