Ryan Clark isn't wasting any time. Just months after his shocking departure from ESPN, the former NFL safety and popular analyst has announced his first big career move—and it's a bold one.
On Monday, Clark revealed the launch of The Pivot Sports with Ryan Clark, a live studio show produced in partnership with NFL Films. The weekly program will stream on his podcast's YouTube channel, marking a new chapter in his media career.
In a video announcement narrated by none other than Odell Beckham Jr. and Jalen Hurts, Clark framed the venture as a shift toward "passion over platform" and "people over perception." It's a clear statement of intent from a broadcaster who has never shied away from speaking his mind.
Clark's exit from ESPN was anything but smooth. He was told during a commercial break on NFL Live that he was being let go, part of a wave of layoffs at the network. But Clark has been adamant that the layoff label was just a cover. "Let me put this to bed—I wasn't laid off, I was fired," he said on his podcast. "They're using layoffs as a cover and a camouflage for what they already intended on doing."
The emotional toll was real. Clark, who grew up in the West Bank and found a home in New Orleans, reflected on what it meant to be accepted. "All I ever wanted to do was be accepted," he said. "So yeah, I wouldn't change."
But now, he's looking forward. "I think the tone, for me, is definitely a triumphant one," Clark told The Athletic. "It's not even in the sense that I've won, but more that I'm not lamenting what was lost."
Clark also has a deal with Netflix, though this new show will start on YouTube. It wouldn't be a surprise to see it eventually land on the streaming giant, which has already partnered with sports media powerhouses like Barstool Sports and The Ringer.
The move signals that Clark is thriving on his own terms, building a platform that reflects his authentic voice. As he steps into this new role, he joins a growing list of athletes and analysts who are carving their own paths in sports media, a trend that continues to reshape the industry.
With The Pivot Sports, Clark is betting on himself—and so far, that bet looks like a winner.
