Micah Parsons couldn't resist a trip back to Dallas, and this time it was for the World Cup. The Green Bay Packers star was spotted at AT&T Stadium on Tuesday, taking in the group-stage clash between Ivory Coast and Norway from a prime seat. Dressed in a black soccer jersey and sporting a lion chain, Parsons looked every bit the part of a global football fan — but Cowboys faithful had plenty to say about his presence.
Cameras caught Parsons enjoying the match, and SportsCenter quickly shared the moment on X, writing, “Micah Parsons back in Dallas at Ivory Coast vs. Norway.” The post ignited a wave of reactions from fans, many of whom weren't exactly rolling out the welcome mat.
“Wants to be a Cowboy so bad,” one fan commented. Another jabbed, “Micah Parsons checking out another player that once played at Lambeau Field, Erling Haaland.” The jokes kept coming, with one user bluntly stating, “We don't want you fatty go away,” and another adding, “Keep that podcasting BUM in Wisconsin.”
It's worth noting that Parsons still owns a home in Dallas, so the trip was likely more about convenience than nostalgia. But for a player who made it clear he wanted out of Texas less than a year ago, the sight of him back in familiar territory raised more than a few eyebrows.
Parsons spent four seasons with the Cowboys from 2021 to 2024, racking up 52.5 sacks in 63 games and earning multiple Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors. He helped Dallas field three top-10 defenses during his tenure. But a contract dispute with owner Jerry Jones led to a formal trade request last August, and after a messy back-and-forth in the media, the Cowboys shipped him to Green Bay in a blockbuster deal.
His first season with the Packers was strong — 12.5 sacks in 14 games — before a season-ending injury cut things short. Green Bay finished second in the NFC North and made the playoffs, only to lose in the wild-card round to the Chicago Bears.
Parsons isn't the only celebrity making waves at the World Cup. Pop star Dua Lipa turned heads in an Italy jersey during her honeymoon, and NFL owner's daughter Gracie Hunt also made a splash with a daring outfit. Meanwhile, Fox is taking its World Cup studio show on the road for the knockout rounds, and protesters have been making their voices heard as the tournament heats up.
As for Parsons, his return to Dallas may have been brief, but it certainly didn't go unnoticed. Whether he was scouting future opponents or just catching a good game, the former Cowboy remains a polarizing figure in the city he once called home.
