Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and pop star Madison Beer are taking their relationship to the next level. The couple announced their engagement Tuesday afternoon, sending social media into a frenzy.
Beer posted a series of photos on Instagram with the simple caption, “Meet my fiancé.” The images show the pair beaming, with a sparkling ring on her finger. Herbert, 27, and Beer, 26, have been dating since at least August 2025, when they were spotted together on the set of a music video. Beer later attended multiple Chargers games, essentially confirming the romance.
But the most touching reaction came from someone very close to Beer: her mother, Tracie. In a heartfelt message online, Tracie gave Herbert her full blessing.
“All a mother wants is for her child to be happy,” Tracie Beer wrote. “I’m so elated and fulfilled…my daughter has met the man of her dreams. Such comfort in knowing he will protect and love her forever. Some things are meant to be, and this is certainly one of them!”
The engagement caps a whirlwind few months for the couple. Just over two months ago, Herbert appeared in the music video for Beer’s song “lovergirl,” fueling speculation about their relationship. Now, they’re planning a future together.
For Herbert, the engagement comes as he prepares for his seventh NFL season. The two-time Pro Bowler has posted impressive regular-season numbers—24,820 passing yards and 163 touchdowns—but has faced criticism for his playoff performance. He has completed just 54.7% of his postseason passes, with two touchdowns and four interceptions, and has yet to win a playoff game.
Fans are eager to see if Herbert can finally break through next season, especially with the added motivation of a new fiancée cheering him on. The Chargers have been busy retooling the roster, and Herbert's leadership will be key.
