The Jacksonville Jaguars pulled off one of the most dramatic wins of the NFL season on Sunday, edging the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 at Wembley Stadium. And after the final whistle, kicker Cam Little made sure Eagles fans felt every bit of the sting.
Little, who nailed a last-second field goal to cap a stunning comeback, took to social media with a three-word taunt aimed directly at Philadelphia's faithful: “HOWDOYOULIKETHAT.” The post came moments after the Jaguars celebrated a victory that seemed all but lost when the Eagles grabbed the lead with under 10 seconds remaining.
The finish was pure chaos. Philadelphia appeared to have the game in hand, but a costly decision by head coach Nick Sirianni opened the door for Jacksonville. Little's kick sailed through the uprights as time expired, flipping the scoreboard and sending the Jaguars' sideline into a frenzy.
The loss was a bitter pill for the Eagles, who had rallied late but watched their hopes evaporate in the blink of an eye. Sirianni took full responsibility afterward, admitting his late-game strategy was the culprit.
“You know, the guys fought so hard, and then I don’t make the decision that, you know, that I should make at the end of the game, and I cost us that game, and I put that fully on me,” Sirianni told reporters. “At the end of the day, I didn’t make the right decision and it cost us the game. There’s no other way around it. I didn’t do my job good enough in that situation.”
The defeat marked another low point in what has been a turbulent stretch for Philadelphia, which has seen fans turn on their coach after a series of late-game blunders. Sunday's collapse only added fuel to that fire.
For the Jaguars, the win was a statement. Jacksonville had struggled to find consistency all season, but knocking off a powerhouse like the Eagles on an international stage could be a turning point. Little's heroics were the highlight, but the team's resilience in the final minutes was just as impressive.
Sirianni, a former player himself, drew a comparison to the pain of a missed free throw or a dropped pass. “It’s just like you would feel if you missed a free throw at the end of the game, or if you had a drop,” he said. “I’ve been in both of those places. And those ones stick with you, and that will stick with me for a long time. All I know is that I’ll work my butt off to get better from it. But, yeah, that one will hurt for a long time.”
Meanwhile, the Eagles' roster situation has been a topic of debate, with confusion over Lane Johnson's inactive status and a recent double ejection in the London clash adding to the drama. The team now heads home licking wounds, while Little and the Jaguars savor a moment they won't soon forget.
