She's back, and she's taking her talents to the Windy City. Veteran NFL sideline reporter Devan Kaney has landed a new gig covering the Chicago Bears for FOX32, setting the stage for an exciting 2026 season.
Kaney, who previously roamed the sidelines for the Philadelphia Eagles, was let go from 94WIP-FM after the 2025 season amid layoffs by parent company Audacy. That meant stepping away from her morning show duties alongside Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. But as Kaney herself put it, when one door closes, another swings wide open.
“I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” Kaney told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”
That next door led her to Chicago. Kaney confirmed the move on social media, posting, “Your newest Bears reporter for the home of the Chicago Bears, [Fox 32].” The announcement came after she previously revealed her departure from Fox 29 Philadelphia was “my choice,” explaining she was “leaving for a bigger market.”
“Last week was my final sportscast at [Fox 29 Philadelphia],” Kaney wrote on X. “I’m so excited to share what’s next for me, but first I have to shoutout my incredible friends, family, and colleagues who have been so supportive over the last few months as I navigated my next career move. Change is never easy, but I’m grateful for the people in my life who make sure I know that I am never alone.”
NFL fans are already buzzing about her return to the sidelines. One supporter wrote, “Congratulations my friend – So hyped for you! Not sure Chicago is ready for the amount of new fans they’re going to have from Philly (for you, not exactly the team). Cannot wait to follow along & see you dominate again!” Another added, “Congratulations! So proud of you! Please keep in touch!”
The Bears are coming off a major playoff appearance, and with Kaney joining the FOX32 crew, the team’s 2026 campaign is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing storylines in the league. It’s a fresh start for both a talented reporter and a franchise on the rise.
Kaney’s move also highlights the growing trend of sports media personalities making strategic career shifts, much like the recent Patrick Ewing return to NBA sidelines or the buzz around NFL sideline star Melanie Collins during the offseason. But for Kaney, this is all about the next chapter—and Chicago is ready to welcome her with open arms.
“Let’s go!!!” one fan shared, echoing the sentiment of many who can’t wait to see Kaney back where she belongs: on the field, bringing fans closer to the action.
