Two years after being shown the door at ESPN, former College GameDay analyst David Pollack is back in the college football spotlight with a fresh opportunity.
On3, the sports media company founded by Shannon Terry, announced Tuesday that Pollack will join its roster as a college football analyst, and his popular See Ball Get Ball show will now be part of the On3 network. The move comes just ahead of the 2026 season, which kicks off as early as this weekend.
Pollack, a former All-American defensive end at Georgia, was part of the GameDay crew until 2023, when ESPN let him go as part of broader layoffs. His replacement, Pat McAfee, faced an immediate backlash from fans who felt Pollack got a raw deal.
“They did not love me,” McAfee admitted in 2023, via Awful Announcing. “You’ve gotta remember that the whole narrative all year was that because my show came to ESPN, obviously we fired Steve Young, we fired all the people that were here and were great people at ESPN. It was my show’s fault. And then on GameDay, David Pollack got let go. David Pollack — who I am a massive fan of. One of the greatest Bulldogs of all time. A dude who was very good to me — obviously, I took his spot. So Georgia fans all year, not necessarily the biggest McAfee fans.”
Pollack has spent the last couple of years building his own brand, and now he's found a platform that aligns with his vision. “College football is what I love, and I’ve had a blast building See Ball Get Ball,” Pollack said. “When you look at the audience On3 has built, the momentum behind the brand and how committed they are to college football, uniting with On3 was a no-brainer. I’m excited about what we can build together.”
On3 founder Shannon Terry echoed that enthusiasm. “David Pollack is one of the most respected and recognizable voices in college football,” Terry said. “He brings credibility, personality and a lifetime of football experience. Adding David and See Ball Get Ball to what we’re building strengthens our national coverage and is a big win for the On3 audience.”
The move adds another high-profile voice to the college football media landscape, which has seen plenty of upheaval recently. From controversial broadcasting returns to the first stops of the 2026 GameDay tour, the sport is never short on drama.
Pollack's new role with On3 is a significant get for the company, which has been expanding its college football coverage. It also gives Pollack a stable home to continue his analysis and commentary, something he's clearly eager to do.
As the season gets underway, all eyes will be on how Pollack's voice fits into the evolving media landscape. For now, though, he's just happy to be back in the game.
