Week 1 of the NFL season is always a spectacle, but this year, the buzz wasn't just about the on-field action. Veteran sideline reporter Erin Andrews stole the spotlight with her striking game-day attire, leaving fans and followers talking long after the final whistle.
Andrews, 48, was back in her familiar spot on the FOX broadcast for the Philadelphia Eagles' narrow victory over the Washington Commanders. Dressed head-to-toe in black, she brought her signature blend of professionalism and flair to the NFC East showdown, a game that lived up to its rivalry billing.
On Monday, the seasoned broadcaster took to Instagram to give credit where it's due. Sharing a glimpse of her Week 1 look, she shouted out the team that helps her shine on screen. “And we’re off! Week 1 with @nflonfox @glamwithdenise @daniela_viviana @kenzandthecamera,” she wrote, making it clear that her polished appearance is a team effort.
Andrews is part of FOX's top-tier broadcasting crew this season, working alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt, Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, and reporter Tom Rinaldi. The chemistry in the booth has been a talking point, and Andrews has been vocal about Brady's rapid improvement as an analyst.
During a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast, Andrews praised Brady for silencing his critics. “I think he was the most scrutinized person to get into a booth, especially last year, right? And I’m proud of him… everyone has their opinion. And they let it be known what they thought of him,” she said. She recalled a moment early in the season when she texted Brady after listening to one of his early broadcasts, noting the dramatic difference in his comfort level by Week 4. “It was funny. I think we were doing Tampa-Eagles Week 4 and I was sitting in my hotel room and they were playing last year’s Eagles-Bucs game. And I texted TB and I just said, ‘wow, listening to you in this game, which was your fourth game of the season versus now, it’s just night and day.’”
Andrews admitted she's a bit envious of how quickly Brady has taken to the job. “I'm not surprised because I think all of us know what his work ethic was going to be heading into the job. I think I'm more annoyed about how good he's gotten and how quickly. I'm like, come on. Do you do everything well? This is crazy. And you look fantastic.”
While Andrews's outfit choices often generate chatter, she's far from the only sideline reporter turning heads this season. Another NFL sideline reporter made waves on Monday Night Football, proving that the role has become as much about style as substance.
Andrews will be back on the sideline this Sunday for a marquee NFC East matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX, and you can bet fans will be watching both the game and Andrews's next fashion statement.
