Jessie James Decker, the wife of former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker, is making a bold personal change—and she's bringing fans along for the ride. The 38-year-old country singer and fitness enthusiast revealed on Friday that she's having her breast implants removed, marking the start of what she calls her “natural girl era.”
In an emotional Instagram post, Decker explained that the decision stems from a deeper connection to her body after years of intense fitness training. “I've been on such a fitness journey with y'all and my @jjdfitclub getting stronger and more confident than ever. I'm not stopping and I don't want anything holding me back,” she wrote alongside a video of her nailing a handstand and showing off her toned physique.
The mother of three admitted that her perspective shifted after welcoming her youngest child, 2-year-old daughter Denver. “This strong girl era has really helped me feel more connected to my body and what feels right for me,” she continued. “I just don't feel like these big implants fit who I am anymore.”
Decker, who has been open about her fitness routines and lifestyle, says the decision is also about setting an example for her daughter. “Having a daughter has made me think about it even more. I never want her to feel like she has to do all this upkeep to feel beautiful,” she explained.
She also hinted at the practical side of the choice: “I want less maintenance in my life and I'm embracing my natural girl era! Maybe it's getting closer to 40, but I've reached this place where I want to feel the most like myself.”
While she's committed to the change, Decker is candid about the uncertainty ahead. “But I know myself, and realistically I'm not sure I'm totally ready for that yet,” she admitted. “I've had such large ones for so long I don't know what I have underneath it all.”
This isn't a spur-of-the-moment decision. Back in 2024, Decker first floated the idea, writing, “I am in no rush for surgery right now. They look pretty good. Butttt eventually I will want to downsize. And shoot, maybe by then I will have changed my mind and will taken em out.”
Her husband, Eric Decker, enjoyed a solid NFL career from 2010 to 2018, playing for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans. He was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten performer at Minnesota before turning pro. The couple's life off the field has often been in the spotlight, and Jessie's latest announcement is already sparking conversations about body image and authenticity.
Jessie's openness echoes the kind of raw honesty seen in other sports figures, like Angel Reese's candid post-game comments that won over WNBA fans. In a world where public figures often project perfection, Decker's willingness to share her journey—including the doubts—is refreshing.
As she prepares for the procedure, Decker remains focused on her fitness goals and her family. “I'm not stopping,” she said, making it clear that this change is about empowerment, not retreat. Her fans, many of whom have followed her fitness challenges, are cheering her on as she steps into this new chapter.
For now, Decker is taking it one step at a time, but her message is clear: true confidence comes from within. And if her handstand video is any indication, she's already standing strong.
