If you're heading to Dodger Stadium this October, you might want to bring more than just your rally cap—you'll need a serious appetite and a hefty wallet. The team has rolled out a colossal burger that's making waves for all the wrong reasons: it costs a whopping $125.
The burger, aptly named the "Colossal Burger," features a 24-ounce patty stacked with American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, and a secret sauce, all sandwiched between a 10-inch brioche bun. It's a beast of a sandwich, but is it worth the price of a game ticket?
The Dodgers are currently locked in a heated National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves. After splitting the first two games in Los Angeles, the series shifts to Atlanta for Games 3 and 4, with the Dodgers needing to steal at least one on the road to bring the series back home. The franchise is clearly pulling out all the stops to keep fans engaged, and this burger is part of that playoff spectacle.
But fans aren't exactly lining up to pay the price. Social media has been buzzing with reactions, and they're not all positive. One fan wrote, "Yikes that's more expensive than the ticket and parking combined." Another quipped, "I'd rather have 6 quarter pounders for $30. McDonald's allows me to pay as I go, and I'll usually go once a month."
Even the burger's appearance has been criticized. "Looks good, but $125?!?!?" one fan posted, while another added, "They got that same burger at Applebees and it used to be like $9.99 lol. It's probably $40 now but the point stands."
Some fans are demanding more for their money. "For $125, they're going to need to disclose the secret behind the sauce," one commenter joked. Another said, "It better come with a ticket to a future game for that price. It doesn't even look that appealing at any price if we're being honest. I'd rather have a Dodger Dog."
Even those with a big appetite are skeptical. "I was a very voracious eater back when I was a young man and even then wouldn't try. Split the thing four or five ways. You're not putting that in your mouth whole anyway," one fan added.
So, is this burger a home run or a strikeout? It's certainly a conversation starter, and it's not the first time a ballpark has tried to outdo itself with outrageous concessions. But at $125, it's a tough sell for most fans. If you're planning to try it, you might want to bring a few friends to split it—and maybe a loan.
What's your verdict? Would you fork over $125 for this colossal creation, or would you rather stick to the classic Dodger Dog? Let us know in the comments.
