In a video that's making the rounds on social media, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders confronted Tran about what he sees as a blatant misuse of his Nike partnership.
The tension unfolded when Sanders asked Tran and his daughter Deiondra, “How do you feel when somebody abuses the privilege of Nike?” He continued, “How do you feel when somebody just abuses it?” The Hall of Famer then turned to Tran specifically: “Like the other day, I just happened to find two boxes in my office… I don’t know where it came from.”
Tran didn't seem fazed. She explained that she places orders “here and there,” often as gifts for others. “He likes when I wear cute outfits so I gotta keep up,” she said. “I always get stuff for everybody, for Lauren, your mom, your sister.” Sanders responded with a wry, “Her game is second to none.”
This isn't the first time Sanders' personal life has made headlines. His relationship history has been a revolving door of public fascination. Married to Carolyn Chambers in the late '80s and early '90s, the couple had two children before splitting. Then came Pilar Biggers-Sanders in 1999, a marriage that played out on reality TV and ended in a messy, highly publicized divorce in 2015 involving custody fights and legal drama.
After that, Sanders was linked to Tracey Edmonds for several years, and the two were often seen together at events supporting his coaching career. They parted ways in 2023, and Sanders began dating Tran last year.
The Nike dust-up is just the latest in a string of off-field moments for Sanders, who has also been in the spotlight for his son Shilo's controversial comments and the ongoing Browns quarterback drama involving his other son, Shedeur. But this time, the drama is closer to home—literally.
While Sanders is busy building a powerhouse program in Boulder, it seems he's also keeping a watchful eye on his Nike account. Tran's defense? She's just trying to stay fashionable. Whether Coach Prime buys that excuse remains to be seen.
