The 2026 season might not be Arch Manning's final act in Austin. During a recent episode of The Ryen Russillo Show, former ESPN analyst Todd McShay floated the idea that the Texas Longhorns quarterback could return for the 2027 campaign, citing a family tradition of patience.
“I don’t even know that the Mannings are looking at this as the swan song at Texas,” McShay said. “There’s a long history of Manning sticking around that extra year that people didn’t think they were going to stick around until they’re right and they feel like they’re ready. I won’t be surprised at all if he’s in the 2028 draft.”
The comment has set the college football world buzzing, with fans taking to social media to weigh in on the possibility. Some are skeptical, pointing to the allure of the NFL, while others see a strategic move—especially if the draft landscape doesn't favor him next April.
