Aaron Rodgers is a married man now, but the NFL quarterback's romantic history reads like a Hollywood call sheet. And his famous ex-girlfriends? They've all reached the same conclusion about him—and they're not exactly shy about sharing it.
Rodgers, 42, recently opened up about his current wife, Brittani, whom he says he met back in 2017. According to the quarterback, his biggest regret is not proposing on the spot when she was preparing to leave the United States for Europe. "I met my wife in 2017," he said. "At the time, she was leaving the states and going back to Europe and my biggest regret is not begging her to stay or just, like, proposing right there."
But while Rodgers paints a picture of a man who finally found his happily ever after, his past partners have a very different story to tell. During a September 10 appearance on the Not Just Football podcast, Rodgers took direct aim at two of his most high-profile exes: Danica Patrick and Shailene Woodley.
On Patrick, Rodgers didn't hold back. "There's Danica with her story of like a trail of blood and blindsided by me leaving her when it's like, alright there's zero intimacy," he said. "I didn't want to buy a house with you. Didn't want to have any attachments and there was really nothing there."
He also claimed that Woodley, to whom he was briefly engaged, asked to sleep with someone else before they were set to marry.
His Exes Aren't Staying Quiet
The responses came fast. Mallory Edens, the daughter of Milwaukee Bucks owner Wes Edens, is believed to have dated Rodgers in 2022. She fired back on Instagram with a post that dripped with sarcasm. "My ex is currently on a press tour talking about how he never loved anyone he dated after 2017," she wrote. "Unfortunately for him, I am also on a press tour, for a movie inspired by how down bad I was. Really exciting time for competing narratives!!"
Patrick, who was with Rodgers from 2018 to 2020, went even further. In an interview with Sage Steele, she described the relationship as emotionally abusive. "People could never imagine that I would lack … any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits," Patrick said. "Yeah, he leaves a trail of blood. I don't think I'm saying too much earth-shattering stuff after we — there's been enough out there."
Woodley, meanwhile, took the high road—sort of. When TMZ asked her for a comment about Rodgers before a pre-Emmys fundraiser earlier this month, she simply laughed and kept walking.
Rodgers has since insisted he prefers a private life, at least when it comes to romance. "It's a sick society, isn't it? It's a sick society," he said. "I lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had public relationships. How did that work out? And now I'm with somebody who's private, who doesn't want to be in the public eye. Didn't sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn't want to be a part of it. Because I do things in private, because I want my personal life to be private, now I'm weird."
Whether Rodgers likes it or not, the court of public opinion—and the women who once shared his life—have already rendered their verdict. And it's about as clear as it gets.
